An exquisite French pair cased quarter repeating coach clock with alarm, circa 1790. Gilt full plate movement, chain and fusee, additional barrels for alarm and strike mechanism, three hammers, verge escapement, three arm brass balance, engraved and pierced balance cock. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five minute numerals. Lacquered, brass and silver outer case with sound openings, a silver inner case with pierced band, engraved front bezel, on the back an engraved bucolic scene showing two billing doves and a dog before the altar of love as a symbol of fidelity and a rear bell.
