A decorative Austrian silver and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1750. Fine and small gilt full plate movement, chain and fusee, three-arm brass balance, very finely engraved and pierced balance cock. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic five-minute numerals. Polychrome enamelled case, the Bird hunting, the front bezel with a variety of birds, the back decorated with a huntsman presenting his prey to a noble lady. Movement signed.

Thomas Fri(e)dl was probably a native of Augsburg, who settled in Salzburg in 1751 and became a master on June 19th, 1751. He was active until 1781 at least. Some other good quality watches made by him are also known.
