In 1955, Corum was founded by René Bannwart and Simone Ries in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. They are known for their unusual design ideas, only make high-end timepieces and specialized in extravagant mechanical and quartz wristwatches. Among others, the company sourced its movements from ETA SA Swiss Watch Manufacturer in Grenchen and Frédéric Piguet in Le Brassus en Le Sentier, until the latter was fully integrated into Manufacture Blancpain and became Corum’s exclusive supplier.
