Galinsky
Otto von Galinsky appears to have been associated with Perpolken (present-day Belopolskoye, Russia), a former estate in the Wehlau district of East Prussia. Although he is not a well-documented figure in general English-language reference works, the combination of his name, the location, and the date 1849 strongly suggests that he was a landowner. The prefix “von” further indicates that he likely belonged to the landed gentry or Junker nobility, who commonly held estates in this region.
In 1849, Perpolken lay within the Province of Prussia, a temporary administrative union of East and West Prussia. It was a rural estate area near the Pregel River. The year 1849 followed directly after the Revolutions of 1848, a time marked by major social upheaval and land-related reforms within the Prussian state.
