Extraordinary Italian quarter repeating à toc et à tact verge pocket watch, circa 1770. Verge movement, repeating the hours and quarters. White enamel dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, rare sun hands. Case worked in gold and silver, the back with translucent blue engine turned enamel, floral ornaments with jewels (some jewels missing), case rim with fine sound holes and lever for switching from bell repeater to ‘silence’ repeater à toc. Cuvette and movement signed and numbered, dial signed.
