A very fine and rare Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased minute repeating split seconds chronograph keyless lever pocket watch made for the American market, circa 1900. Rhodium plated movement, fausses côtes decoration, 36 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Gold hinged cuvette, glazed gold rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute track and red painted Arabic five minutes/seconds numerals, outermost seconds divided into fifths, subsidiary seconds and original gold Louis XV hands. Engine turned case, polished borders. Dial and movement signed.
