A fine French silver open faced Louis XIV oignon watch, circa 1710. Frosted gilt full plate movement, divided Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three armed steel balance, short balance spring, pierced and chased cock decorated with two opposing goats, birds and foliage, Tompion type regulator with silver scale disc. White enamel dial with bold black painted Roman numerals on raised cartouches, inner quarter hour ring, outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, winding aperture at 3 o’clock. and blued steel beetle and poker hands. The case back and bezel with engraved decoration, square hinge, loose ring pendant, mastermark IN beneath a crown. Movement signed.
