An English gilt-brass and tortoiseshell triple-cased verge pocket watch made for the Islamic market, circa 1810. Gilt-brass full plate movement, pierced vase pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, flat balance spring, single-footed foliate pierced and engraved balance cock, silver regulator scale with Islamic numerals. The outer case overlaid with tortoiseshell with pique decoration, the second case polished and engraved with scrolls, crescents and flowers, faux hallmarks, polished inner case with faux hallmarks. White enamel dial with Islamic numerals, outer minute track, later blued steel beetle and poker hands. Dial erroneously signed, movement signed Borrell, cases with imitation British hallmarks.
