A very fine and rare English 20 carat gold pair cased verge pocket watch, London Hallmarked 1723. Gilt full plate movement, square baluster pillars, fusee and chain with worm and wheel set-up, verge escapement, three armed steel balance, flat balance spring, silver regulation dial with serpent pointer, pierced and engraved balance cock with single foot and streamers. Gold champlevé dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost Arabic five minute numerals, the centre with signature cartouches, original blued steel beetle and poker hands.  Polished outer case, the inner case also polished, deep back. Dial and movement signed, both cases numbered and with master mark IW.
