Silver verge watch with alarm by Masmejan

A very fine, rare Swiss silver pair cased verge pocket watch with alarm, circa 1720. Gilt brass full plate, silver square baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three armed brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved gilt brass cock and backplate furniture, polished steel endplate with faceted red endstone, silver regulation disc, silver signature plaque, alarm train with fixed brass barrel, steel train, sounding on a bell in the back of the case. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost large Arabic five minute numerals, female arbor for setting the alarm hand, original gold hour and minute hands, blued steel tulip alarm hand. Polished outer case, bezel of inner case finely pierced and chased with foliage and centred by a grotesque mask, deep back, winding apertures for the going and alarm trains. Movement signed.
