A fine Swiss gilt metal pair-cased verge pocket watch, circa 1720. Gilt full plate movement, divided Egyptian pillars with fluted silver capitals (one missing), fusee with chain, verge escapement, three armed steel balance with flat balance spring, finely pierced and engraved balance cock and backplate furniture, the cock with small streamers, silver regulation dial. Silver champlevé dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost Arabic five minute numerals, the centre with ornate signature cartouches, original blued steel beetle and poker hands. Gilt metal outer case overlaid with shagreen and with pique decoration, polished inner case, deep back. Dial and movement signed.
