A fine German 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless lever pocket watch with richly engraved case, circa 1868. Nickel finished 3/4 plate movement, some jewels carried in screwed gold chatons. Gold cuvette. Silvered dial with engraved scrollwork highlighted by raised gold floral vines, Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Highly engraved case, the front lid with a scrolling blank cartouche surrounded by acanthus, the back centered by a floral bouquet, the band with rich foliate scrollwork. Dial and movement signed, case stamped with maker’s mark ‘PF’.
