Gold hunting cased one minute tourbillon chronometer by Girard-Perregaux

A fine and rare Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless pocket chronometer with one minute tourbillon made for the South American Market, circa 1876. Nickel finished movement, 15 jewels, pivoted detent escapement, large bimetallic compensation balance with gold poising screws, blued steel balance spring with overcoil, one minute tourbillon regulator with Ernest Guinand’s first type polished steel three armed carriage, screwed gold chatons. Engraved floral and scroll decorated cuvette. Silver dial with Roman numerals, outer and central raised yellow gold floral decoration and subsidiary seconds. Engine turned case, ribbed band, inside covers with engine turned decoration, engraved initials MJ to the front. Case numbered 80’648 and also signed R. Waldvogel No. 6640, cuvette, dial and movement signed. Comes with Neuchâtel Observatory Bulletin and box.
