Two day marine chronometer in mahogany box by Barraud

An English mahogany two day marine chronometer with power reserve indication, circa 1850. Spotted single chain and fusée movement, Earnshaw’s detent lever escapement, freesprung cut bimetallic balance with wedge weights, blued steel helical balance spring and diamond end stone. Silvered dial with Roman numerals, two subsidiary dials for up and down indication and constant seconds, blued steel hands. Three tier box with ivory disc to front inscribed Barraud/2721, brass handles, brass bowl and gimbal. Case and movement signed.
