A fine Swiss 18 carat gold open faced quarter repeating ruby cylinder pocket watch, circa 1822. Sold To Monsieur de Comte François de Thun, for the sum of 3600 Francs, on January 15, 1822.
Gilt finished ruby cylinder movement, three armed plain balance with parachute on the top pivot, quarter repeating on a hammer on to a gong, repeat activated through a pull twist push piece in the band. Gold cuvette. Silver engine turned dial, outer polished chapter ring with Roman numerals. Engine turned case. Dial and cuvette signed, cuvette and case numbered. Comes with original presentation box and certificate.
