Gold open faced with lever escapement

A very fine and rare Swiss 14 Carat yellow gold keyless pocket watch with a split-seconds chronograph, circa 1900. A solid, polished case, a co axial crown for the start/stop and return to zero of the chronograph, a button for the split-seconds at 11 and a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute and chronograph divisions with five minute red Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands. A rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 19 jewels, the centre jewel in a screwed gold chaton, straight-line lever escapement, adjusted cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator. Dial and movement signed, case numbered.
