A Danish rare and fine quarter repeating gentleman’s pocket watch with independent jumping seconds “Seconde Morte”, circa 1843.
18 carat gold engine turned case with monogram, signed gold dome and slide for repeating mechanism. White enamel dial with radial black Roman hours, red Arabic minutes, jumping centre seconds and blued Breguet hands. Bridge movement, frosted, gilt, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, 2 barrels, keywind, gold screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, counterpoised lever.
