A fine, early English pair cased pocket watch with cylinder escapement, circa 1767.
Two cases: 18 carat gold, polished, à goutte outer case with large lateral hinge; 18 carat gold polished inner case with case maker’s punch mark “DA” (Daniel Aveline of London) and movement protection cap. Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals and gold spade hands. Full plate movement, keywind, with applied engraved and pierced ornaments, chain/fusee, conical movement pillars, three-arm steel balance and a fine florally engraved and pierced balance cock with mascaron.
