A fine English gentleman’s pocket watch with English lever escapement, circa 1832.
18 carat rose gold polished case with case maker’s punch mark “HAI” and movement protection cap. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and spade hands. Full plate movement, keywind, firegilt and signed, with chain/fusee, engraving “Patent”, moulded movement pillars, three-arm steel balance, fine florally engraved balance cock, engraved regulator scale and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.

John Arthur Singleton was based in Manchester, County of Lancaster, with his business on Saint George’s Road. He went bankrupt in 1810 and was curated by Mr. Edge in Queen Street.
