A fine English gold and enamel triple cased verge watch made for the Turkish market, circa 1813, gilt full plate verge movement signed Markwick Markham Borrell London, chain and fusee, silver dial for regulator. White enamel dial, Turkish numerals, gold beetle and poker hands • gold and enamel inner case with orange on the bezel, green on the band and blue with floral decoration to the back, case maker’s AN, central case with polychrome enamel scene of a harbour, framed by red translucent enamel, and outer green heightened with gold and red enamel, similarly decorated bezel with also blue enamel, diamond thumb set piece, the outer case with similar floral pattern against a green enamel ground, dial and movement signed, case hallmarked London 1813.
