A fine and rare Scottish gold, enamel and pearl set chatelaine watch, circa 1790, gilt cylinder movement, signed Jefferson, Edinburgh, plain three arm balance, balance cock, index for regulation.
White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, gold hands, case back with translucent green enamel over an engine-turned starburst ground, pearl-set central decoration with front and back bezels, the inner bezel stamped with lion passant,Chatelaine compose of two sections overlaid with translucent green enamel set with split pearls, spaced by split pearl-set and translucent enamelled green links, terminating in two matching tassels, a key and a fob seal, signed and numbered on the movement.
