A fine German gilt metal and agate open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1770. The case is on both sides made of agate with an engraved gilded bezel and hinge. White enamel dial with painted black Roman hours and Arabic minutes, gilt Louis XV hands. A hinged movement on an engraved gilt ring, gilt-brass full plate with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, flat balance spring, pierced foliate continental cock with steel endplate and ruby endstone, silver regulation dial. Movement signed.
