A very rare English, underpainted horn clock watch, circa 1740-1760.
This beautiful timepiece features a Gilt English full plate verge movement, along with a pierced and engraved balance bridge and cage adorned with shell decoration. Its enamel dial boasts Roman radial hours, an outer minutes track marked with Arabic fifteen-minute numerals, and stunning gilt Louis XV-style hands. The pinchbeck case is covered in underpainted horn and paste jewels. The dial bears the signature CABRIER / LONDON, while the inside of the case is stamped with LETON.
