An important, heavy hunting cased minute repeating watch of historical interest with chronograph, circa 1924. 18k gold case, tiered, smooth, inlaid cobalt blue enamelled monogram, gold dome with presentation engraving: “Presented to Dev Nath Purohit by H. H. Maharajadhiraj of Patiala 1936”, case makers punch mark “RN”, pusher for chronograph at “12”, slide for repeating mechanism.
Dial is enamel, luminous Arabic numerals, sunk auxiliary seconds, tachy scale, sunk 60 min. counter, skeletonized luminous hands. 4/5 plate movement, Swiss Ebauche, frosted, gilt, blued screws, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, screwed gold chatons, wolfteeth winding wheels, English lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, florally engraved balance cock, diamond endstone on balance, gold-chatoned ruby endstone on lever and escape wheel.
