A representative English hunting cased pocket watch with spring detent escapement – for the Ottoman market, circa 1923. 18 Carat gold engine turned case with reeded band, gold dome, and case maker’s punch mark RGM (Reginald George Merrick). Silver dial, hand engraved, with applied multi coloured gold floral ornaments, Ottoman numerals, auxiliary seconds, and blued spade hands. 2/3 plate movement, florally hand engraved, with gold screw compensation balance, freesprung blued balance spring, and fine florally engraved balance cock.
