High quality pocket watch with coined band

A high quality spring detent chronometer, made by John Lownds in London, England, circa 1832. The open faced case of this watch which was crafted from silver has gold hinges, London Hallmarks and the case maker’s punch JJ. The enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and Breguet steel hands. The movement has a spring detent chronometer escapement in the manner of Arnold with a helical hairspring.
The movement and dial are signed.
