An early deck watch with center stoppable seconds and date, made by Richard Burns in Manchester, England, circa 1788. This pair cased pocket watch was crafted from silver has hallmarks from 1788, a case band with a lever to stop the center seconds. The white enamel dial has an Arabic ten seconds outer scale, a subsidiary hours and minutes dial with Arabic numerals at 12 o’clock, a date of the month dial at 6 o’clock and gilt hands. The numbered movement has a verge escapement.
The movement is signed.
