It is extremely rare to find these early English “Day & Night” verge watches in this fantastic condition. John Stanford Clarke completed his education till 1686 and was a member of the Clockmakers Company from 1696 to 1725. Around 1700, he probably entered into a partnership with Fromanteel. Comparable watches are noted with this name.
