Large Navy chronometer with blued steel hands

A large Navy chronometer watch with chronograph and register, made by J. Auricoste, Horloger de la Marine, on 10, rue la Boetie in Paris, France, circa 1948. The open faced chrome plated case of this watch has a dust protection back lid. The white enamel dial has Arabic five minute and hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute counter dial at 12 o’clock and blued steel hands. The high quality numbered Lemania movement has a gold plated anker chronometer escapement, a particularly large chronometer balance and a gold plated column wheel chronograph.
