Gold and enamel repeating à toc pocket watch by Henri Voisin
–
A French gold and enamel quarter repeating à toc open faced pocket watch, circa 1780. This pocket watch has a particular allure: its back is decorated with floral engine-turned pattern and translucent mauve enamelling and a border of opaque white enamel pearls. The edges on the front and back show Champlevé enamelling. The watch has diamonds on the pushers that open the case. Gilt full plate verge movement and pierced and engraved balance bridge. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, outer five-minute track, and gold Fleur-de-Lys hands. Movement signed and numbered 660. A perfectly preserved guild mark proves that the watch case was made in 1781; the charge mark is that of Henri Clavel (1781-1783).
