A rare French gentleman’s pocket watch with virgule escapement and jumping centre seconds, circa 1815.
Engraved engine turned silver case with reeded band. Enamel dial with Arabic “Breguet” numerals, centre seconds and blued Breguet hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt with two florally engraved barrels, three arm brass balance and pierced balance bridge.

French watchmaker Dusommerard was a clockmaker in Rouen around 1800 and is also known as Du Sommerard. According to “Le Journal de Rouen”, he was based in the Rue Grand Pont in Rouen.
