A decorative and very fine French one-handed pre-balance spring watch, circa 1635.
Silver case with lavish floral chasing and engraving, large lateral hinge, and turning disc pendant. Silver, Champlevé dial with inlaid radial Roman numerals, very fine ornamental flower engraving in the centre, stylized leaf decor at the border, and single gilt filigree hand. Firegilt signed full plate movement with applied floral decorations, gut/fusee, baluster movement pillars, verge escapement, applied blued click work, iron ring balance without balance spring, and florally engraved and pierced balance cock.
