An early very fine French verge watch with alarm, former French nobleman possession, circa 1730.
Silver case with bell, Louis XV hinge, pierced, different decorations, flowers and vases as well as weapons, music instruments and birds, mid section rotatable for closing the winding openings and engraved crown. Signed fire-gilt verge escapement with engraved barrel, extravagant balance bridge with sickle-shaped side parts and big silver regulating disc. White enamel dial with small enamel disc for setting the alarm time in center, Arabic minutes, Roman hours and decorative gold hands. Watch chain with 2 original silver keys.
