A rare French Revolution verge pocket watch indicating revolution time and normal time, circa 1793.
The polished case is 18 carat rose gold. The dial is enamel with Arabic hours “1-10” on the revolution chapter ring, Arabic hours “1-12” on the normal time chapter ring, polychrome enamel painting, depicting a female figure “holding a stick with a Phrygian Cap” and blued Breguet hands. And the movement is a full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, with chain/fusee, solid pillars, three arm brass balance and a pierced and engraved balance bridge, decorated with a Phrygian Cap and a cock.
