A gentleman’s important pocket watch, one of the earliest German minute repeating pocket watch with Carillon, circa 1790.
18 Carat rose gold case, engine-turned, monogrammed, with a signed gold dome, case maker punch mark VeP, and repetition via pendant. Signed enamel dial with Arabic numeral and blued Brequet hands. Bridge movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, with mirror, polished repetition steel parts, three hammers, three gongs, going barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, and blued balance spring.

Antoine Nic (o) las Delolme was a court watchmaker in Braunschweig, he was the son of the Geneva-born watchmakers Jean Delolme and Anne Elisabeth Aubanel, he was born in 1752. His grandfather was Théophile Delolme, a watchmaker in Kassel. Antoine Niclas Delolme reached 1799 after constant input from Herzogl. Hof has proper examination regulations for master watchmakers, after which you will not receive a license without a masterpiece.

Antoine Nic (o) las Delolme also led the French Reformed Evangelical Congregation in Braunschweig and was married in 1780 to Anna Katharina Sara Schwartz, daughter of Franz Christian Schwarz , a watchmaker in Braunschweig. Ten children were born into the marriage and four died early. Two sons became merchants, only the youngest Henry Delolme, born in 1799, became a watchmaker and moved to London. Three daughters became governess. The most famous middle daughter Louise Delolme (1791-1851) worked as an educator in various noble families. Finally to the Danish court, where she was the governess and companion (companion) of two queens. She was also very close friends with Queen Caroline Amalie of Denmark.
