A rare Southern German quarter repeating verge pocket watch with date, circa 1815.
A 14-carat rose gold, spiral engraved case. A signed white enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, inner date ring with corresponding hand, and gold hands. And a full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, two hammers / two gongs, and a ring balance.

Benedikt Liebherr
Benedikt Liebherr was a clock- and watchmaker who also founded a spinning company in Landshut. He trained in mechanical engineering at the institute of mathematical-mechanical engineering of Utzschneider, Reichenbach and Liebherr (Benedikts famous brother Joseph Liebherr) in Munich. He also attended lectures in Physics and Maths at the University of Landshut. In 1818 Benedikt opened his spinning mill with 60 employees.
