A very fine and rare German gold, enamel and rock crystal octagonal verge pocket watch, circa 1620.
This timepiece features a gilt metal hinged octagonal design with a full plate chain fusée movement and a verge escapement. It has a steel balance and a small-footed irregular oval foliate pierced and engraved cock. The dial is adorned with enamel in blue, green, and orange hues against a gold background, Roman radial hours, and a blued single hand. The case is made of gold and rock crystal. The signature M I can be found on the movement.
