A rare and large German gilded copper single handed hour striking clock watch from the early 17th century. The watch has a gilt movement with a verge escapement. It has a gilded copper and metal dial with Roman numerals, half hour markers, inner Arabic 24 hours, the center decoratively engraved with a bird, flowers and foliage, a single metal hand and a pinhole for setting the self strike, the letter Z representing the numeral two. An engraved case, the hinged front cover with 12 openings to reveal the hour markers.
