A rare German graduate’s piece, made at the Deutsche Uhrmacherschule Glashütte, circa 1930.
Silver polished case with gold crown, hinge and shackle. Signed enamel dial with Arabic numerals, auxiliary seconds, blue 24h indication and blued cathedral hands. Frosted, gilt and signed 3/4 plate movement with screwed gold chatons, gold screw compensation balance, fine engraved balance cock, index spring fine adjusting device and gold lever.

Reinhard Reichel, director of the watch museum in Glashütte states: “Werner Rustemeyer was born in Attendorn on February 28, 1905 and attended the German Watchmaking School in Glashuette in 1930 and 1931. The pocket watch with school number 3689 is a calibre 43 watch that features an open design. Rustemeyer also built a precision pendulum clock.”
