A German very rare, fine gentleman’s Glashütte pocket watch so called “cut hunter” – manufactured in quality 1A -, for the American market, specially made for Charles William Schumann, New York, circa 1885.
This rare watch has an 18 carat gold, engine turned, “à goutte” case with reeded band; a signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. And it has a rhodium-plated 3/4 plate movement with “fGeneva striping” decoration, screwed gold chatons, glazed movement, gold screw compensation balance and gold lever and escape wheel.
