A fine Glashütte hunting cased pocket watch, sold to Friedrich Eilfeld company in Gröbzig for 709 reichsmarks on December 24, 1927. With original box, original invoice, and original certificate.
18-carat gold, polished, à goutte case with case design “Royal” and gold dome. Signed, enamel dial with Arabic “Empire” numerals, auxiliary seconds, blue 24h indicator, and gold Breguet hands. Frosted, gilt, and signed 3/4 plate movement with screwed gold chatons, gold screw compensation balance, hand-engraved balance cock, index spring fine adjusting device, and gold lever.

Watchmaker Christian Friedrich Eilfeld was born on April 22, 1868 in Groebzig; he showed an interest in all things mechanical from an early age. In 1908 Eilfeld invented a metal spinneret, the prerequisite for the production of synthetic fibres.
