A fine large 18 carat gold full hunting cased watch with minute repeater and chronograph, numbered, made by Picard & Fils in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, circa 1900. Plain case of and each lid is made of 18 carat gold. The original white enamel dial is in excellent condition. The dial features an inner ring with Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer ring with Arabic numerals for the stopwatch seconds, a subsidiary dial for the seconds and red gold hands. The movement of this watch is a Swiss lever escapement with a minute repeater and chronograph. The minute repeater function allows the wearer to chime the time at will, while the chronograph function allows for precise timekeeping during events or races.
The dial and dust cover are both signed.
