A fine American 14K white gold octagonal keyless pocket watch, circa 1930. The case is made and signed by Illinois Watch Co. An Empire, octagonal case, bezel and back rim with floral motif engraving, centred by an engraved bird’s motive, hinged back and movement. Silver dial with vertical stripes and applied yellow gold Arabic numerals on a plain reserve, outer minute track, subsidiary sunk seconds dial and yellow gold Cathedral hands. Rhodium-plated movement, hand engraved decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring.
