A large and fine, French quarter repeating coach clock with alarm and date indicator, circa 1775.
Signed, firegilt full plate movement with chain/fusee, verge escapement, two lavishly engraved barrels, three hammers, three-arm brass balance, and florally engraved pierced balance bridge. Enamel dial, en bosse, with radial Roman hours, Arabic numerals for alarm on the inner chapter ring, and blued hand; Arabic numerals for the date on the outer chapter ring, blued serpentine hand, and Louis XVI hands for hour indication. Silver case with the back an engraved floral decoration to the band, an engraved compass rose to the centre, a string for repetition, a large lateral hinge, and a rear bell.
