Rare large English silver pocket chronometer watch Circa 1797

A fine large silver pocket chronometer, hallmarked London circa 1797. Gilt full plate movement with Arnold spring detent escapement, bimetallic O-Z balance with meantime adjustment screws, blued steel helical spring, freesprung, diamond endstone, pierced and engraved balance cock with scroll design. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands. Large polished case. Movement signed, case maker’s mark ‘TH’ (Thomas Hardy). Accompanied by a presentation case with key and spare glass.
