A fine and rare French platinum keyless mystery watch with matching chain, circa 1980. Cal. 81003S, nickel lever square movement with canted corners. Off centre aperture with mystery blued hands and Roman numerals on brushed chapter ring. Platinum case, snap on back, triangular swivel bow. Platinum matching chain. Case and movement signed. With a Cartier presentation box.

Available as a special edition in either white gold, yellow gold or platinum, each with a unique number, the Cartier mystery pocket watches made in the 1980’s were inspired by the original Type Cartier Mystery clocks of the early 20th century designed by Maurice Couët.
