An English gold pair cased verge pocket watch by Charles Quenovault, inner case hallmarked London, circa 1728. Gilt full plate movement, fusee, baluster pillars, scroll pierced cock with mask. Gold dial with Roman and Arabic numerals on matted ground and blued beetle and poker hands. Outer and inner case plain, case maker’s mark ‘SG’, fish above, engraved ‘for Stephen Goujon’, later replaced pendant. Dial and movement signed.
