A rare Swiss gunmetal open face double dial tachymeter chronograph by Omega, circa 1906. Retailed by Kirby Beard & Co. Ltd., Paris. Gilt ¾ plate movement, lever escapement, bimetallic balance, overcoiled spring, visible chronograph work planted on back plate activated by single button in crown. White enamel dial. To the front a color coded six segment tachymeter scale for speeds 10½ to 250 km/hr, Arabic chapters, 15 minute register incorporating segment counter, gold hour and minute hands, blued sweep second hand, annular a tachymeter scale for speeds 7 to 180 km/hr, fifth seconds ring and blued sweep second hand. Plain open face case with gilt accents, doubly glazed.
