Gold chronometer
–
A particularly heavy pocket chronometer made in Switzerland, circa 1900. This hunting cased watch was crafted from 14 carat gold with three gold lids, of which the cuvette is numbered, engraved with eight prize medals and inscribed Chronomètre. The white enamel dial has Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, outermost five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold hands, marked Chronomètre. The movement has a very fine Swiss rocker chronometer escapement with screwed gold chatons and fine adjustment.
Case and movement have matching numbers.
