A rare Danish silver open faced cylinder precision pocket watch, circa 1803. Full plate movement, cylinder escapement, key wind, large barrel, three-arm brass balance. White enamel regulator dial, in the upper half the time indication with radial Roman hours and an outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals, in the lower half the subsidiary seconds. A polished case. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.

Jürgen Jürgensen, 1745-1811, was the father of the renowned watchmaker Urban Jürgensen. In 1775, he started a watchmaking factory in Copenhagen and went into partnership with Isaac Larpent in 1780. Since then the company operated from Roskilde under the name Larpent & Jürgensen.
